If you go to Google something today, you may notice yourself staring at Fred Flintstone. Why?
It’s because today is the 50th anniversary of the first airing of the Flintstones TV series. The Hanna-Barbera cartoon premiered on ABC on September 30, 1960 and ran until 1966.
But where’s the ‘Google’? If you look closely, you can see that the Fred’s car is the capital G, the two huts are supposed to be Os, the dino in the pond is the lowercase g, the palm tree is the l and the house on the right is the e. (Also, sorry to any readers who saw that immediately for talking to you like you are children: we totally didn’t get it at first!)
In honor of the anniversary, The Telegraph has come up with The 15 Things You Didn’t Know About The Flintstones — including the fact that Fred and Wilma Flintstone were the first television couple to be seen in bed together. TIME.com, meanwhile, has put together a list of the top 10 television theme songs. Yabba dabba doo!
