‘Zombie’ Cannibal Attacks Come to China

A man in Wenzhou, China, is accused of attacking a woman and biting her in the face

Cannibal attacks seems to have spread to China, as a drunk bus driver was caught on camera gnawing at a woman's face in a random attack.

Life (and cannibalism) made so much more sense when we all thought bath salts were the driving force behind the so-called zombie apocalypse. But once toxicologists determined that Rudy “Causeway Cannibal” Eugene wasn’t under the influence of the synthetic drug when he chewed the face off a man in Miami, our theories were thrown out the window.

And now, another case: Last week, in the Chinese city of Wenzhou, a man carried out an attack straight out of Night of the Living Dead. The Daily Mail reports that an off-duty bus driver surnamed Dong jumped on top of a woman’s car as she drove by and began pounding on her windshield. When she attempted to run away, Dong tackled her from behind and begin biting her on the face, severely injuring her mouth and nose before bystanders were able to restrain him. He was reportedly drunk on grain alcohol.

Given the ubiquity of alcohol, we have to wonder if there is some other, non-alcohol-or-drug-related, explanation for the spate of cannibalistic attacks. For now, though, we’re betting on zombies.

Cannibal attacks  are  becoming  alarmingly dangerous at different places of the world for which Governments in their respective regions should do needful at the soonest possible.

This isn't the normal quality of reporting I have come to expect from Time Magazine. I normally like reading Time for their mature outlook and unbiased reports on worldly affairs. If I wanted jokes and humorous takes on current events I would've gone to 9gag. Please don't let this happen again. Integrity is a delicate thing.

I were her  I would  attack to  him and force him to  take a hard wood and  to insert it in himself to the bottom  to let him know the consequence of being cannibal. By that , I'm going to teach him that there is reaction for every action.

If she does that, the girl will be brandished as a psychological deviant and would be jailed instead of the guy.

Great Thinking!

That's your solution to every problem.

The next time someone jumps on your car, lock the doors and stay in it. Then drive away. Do not get out of the safety of your vehicle and attempt to run away. Seriously, what's the matter with people?

Maybe because the girl does not believe in the safety of the car as it was Made in China?

Evil me, I know :-|

"

That's not funny, clever, or original, let alone appropriate. The victim in this attack will be mentally and physically scarred for life. Get help, Catherine Traywick, you and TIME magazine are sick.

@f_galton I may be a little crazy myself, but if I were the victim and people asked me what happened, I would reply with "A Zombie tried to eat me!" That's with all seriousness. I believe people in this society are strong enough to take light-hearted comments. This is the year 2012, not the 1690's.

f_falton - you need to grow a sense of humor! It is possible to connect the recent spate of random cannibalistic attacks in a tongue-in-cheek manner and still feel sympathy for the poor victims.  No one is making light of the horror.  It's the re-occurring coincidences we are laughing at.  Sometimes you have to laugh...to keep from crying (or screaming)!

You need to grow a sense of empathy Donna Huston. You say no one is "making light" of this attack, then you admit you are laughing at it!

Nooo...I said we're laughing at the "re-occurring coincidences" of these recent  random attacks. not the specific attacks themselves.  But never mind - we get it - you're no fan of  Zombie Apocalypse humor.  Some of us are though - no need to intentionally mis-interpret our intentions with your 'holier than thou'  judgements.
