Sure, humans couldn’t exist without water. But it’s more than just a transparent liquid — countless minute multicellular organisms make their homes in water. Three Spanish teenagers, Ivan Hervias, 17, Marcos Ochoa, 16, and Sergio Pascual, 15, developed a system to investigate the miraculous liquid that is the basis for life. The trio not only found the organisms, but also digitally mapped them for a new water-born experience. They were declared the winners of the 15-16 age group along the way.
