It’s really exciting to visit the Big Apple. We get it. We totally get it. But if you want to take it all in by meandering through crowded Midtown streets, could you just … meander a little faster? Some of us are trying to get to work to cover breaking news. Want to take a photo? Great, we love photography too. But maybe just head over to a peripheral patch of empty sidewalk rather than stop abruptly right in the center of everything?
We know we’re not being unreasonable here — and we also know we’re not alone. The improv troupe Improv Everywhere has proposed a solution to this very problem: equip New York sidewalks with a “Tourist” lane. Some of us need to hurry up and get to work. Because seriously, breaking news beckons.
