With 409 football victories, now the most in the history of the NCAA’s Football Bowl Subdivision, and two national titles to his name, winning has become part of the culture at Penn State. When JoPa started—granted, this is over 60 years ago—Beaver Stadium held 46,000 fans. Now the stadium houses 107,000, one of the largest in the nation. His continued success warranted a statue outside the stadium in 2001, with JoPa depicted leading the team out of the tunnel.
