Paula Broadwell, 40, is David Petraeus’ alleged mistress and the co-author of his biography, All In: The Education of General David Petraeus, published this past January. A West Point alumna and counterterrorism expert, Broadwell first met Petraeus in 2006 while completing graduate work at Harvard. Her dissertation eventually developed into the biography — a project that took her to Afghanistan to embed with the decorated, high-profile general. She later noted the “unprecedented access” she had to him and to potentially covert information during the time she spent researching. Broadwell now resides in Charlotte, NC, with her husband and two young sons. So far, she has declined to comment on the scandal. Less than a week after news of the alleged affair broke, Broadwell’s security clearance was revoked.
