In the end, appearing in the final installment of the Twilight film franchise was probably the least interesting thing Stewart did this year. In 2012 she was named the highest-paid actress in Hollywood by Forbes magazine, with estimated income of $34.5 million. This summer she also snagged the starring role in the fairy-tale action film Snow White and the Huntsman — and then made headlines when a dalliance with the film’s director, Rupert Sanders, threatened to end her long-running romance with Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson. “This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob,” Stewart overshared in her July 25 public apology. “I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.” The beautiful yet exceedingly pale couple were reunited in time for the premiere of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, which made more than $750 million worldwide.
