After 39 arrests, even the most dedicated criminals would probably consider throwing in the towel. But a long history of charges hasn’t kept Stephen Brewster from adding yet another infraction to his seemingly endless rap sheet.

The 32-year old resident of Sarasota, Fla., was arrested for car burglary on Tuesday, rounding out his list of offenses in Sarasota County to 40, according to a police press report.  CBS affiliate WTSP reports that Brewster’s previous infractions include, but are certainly not limited to, the following:

  • Fraud
  • Forgery
  • Stealing credit cards
  • Criminal mischief
  • Grand theft
  • Petty theft
  • Robbery
  • Loitering

Brewster is now back at the county jail, or what long ago became his home away from home. He was denied bail on nine accounts of probation violation.

Sarasota Sheriff Tom Knight told WTSP, “He’s been though the judicial system [so much], he probably knows it better than I do.” According to Knight, arresting the same person over and over is becoming quite frustrating, and “if anybody out there has the answer,” his department would like to know it.
