Despite its number seven position this year, the Poodle holds the record for consecutively being named the AKC’s most popular dog. From 1960 to 1982, the Poodle consistently took the number one spot on the annual list. Perhaps it’s the breed’s inherent intelligence or hypoallergenic coat that led it gain such status. Or maybe it’s just their good looks.
