In 2010, Chelsea Clinton was to marry Manhattan hedge-fund manager Marc Mezvinsky in a manner befitting the daughter of a sitting Secretary of State and a former President: “sometime in the summer” at “an undisclosed location.” But thanks to intrepid reporters, the world soon learned the Clinton-Mezvinsky nuptials would take place on July 31 in the small village of Rhinebeck, N.Y., 100 miles north of New York City. Security was tight—no BlackBerrys were allowed through the gates, and a no-fly zone was set up over the wedding site, the 50-acre Astor Courts estate. But that’s to be expected when the guest list reads like Politico’s rolodex: Madeleine Albright, Anthony Weiner and Terry McAuliffe were all in attendance. The intimate details of the affair remain mostly unknown, but with a reported $2 million price tag, it was undoubtedly fancy.
