Some might call it an obsession, but Darlene Flynne says shoes are “beautiful” and “feminine.” She believes that so strongly that in 12 years of collecting, she has amassed 15,665 different shoe-related items, everything from glass shoes to boots to artwork depicting shoes. (Beat that, Imelda Marcos.) Flynne got the idea to collect after seeing her cousin’s 500 glass shoes and now picks up anything shoe related almost wherever she goes.
