This summer, Google helped us learn just how tough it is to be an Olympic soccer goalie. Okay, so maybe this interactive doodle isn’t quite as tough as real-life goalkeeping, but whatever. The doodle team launched this instantly popular game on August 10, two weeks after the 2012 Summer Olympics kicked off in London. The premise is simple: you’re pitted against an automated shooter, and you try to block as many shots as possible. When he scores three goals, you lose, and your score is the number of seconds you lasted. Here’s a little secret, though: The doodle instructs you to move laterally using the left and right arrow keys, and to jump using the up key. But you’ll be more agile if you use your mouse to move, and click to jump.
It’s easy to see why this Doodle is ranked #1 — it’s strangely, but completely, addictive. Seriously, we dare you to try and play just once.
