Laughter is the best medicine, right? Turns out comedian Zeppo Marx, the youngest Marx brother and Duck Soup actor, had thought of a couple of other remedies, too. He invented an electric-powered wristwatch that would sound an alarm when a heart patient’s pulse rate became abnormally high or low. He also created a heating pad connected to a steam generator, arguing that too much heat was lost in the traditional method of soaking towels in hot water and then repeatedly applying them to the body.
