The ASA deemed this Marc Jacobs ad, featuring 17-year-old actress Dakota Fanning, offensive for portraying a child in a sexual manner. While Fanning is clearly fully clothed in the photo, it’s the poorly placed perfume bottle that was the problem. “We considered that the length of her dress, her leg and the position of the perfume bottle drew attention to her sexuality,” the ASA said in its report. “Because of that, along with her appearance, we considered the ad could be seen to sexualise a child.”
