But that doesn’t go over well in Britain, where the ASA banned a Julia Roberts ad for Lâncome, as well as a Maybelline ad featuring Christy Turlington (both companies are owned by L’Oréal) in July 2011. The reason for the ban? Excessive use of the photo-editing tool, which is a misleading representation of the women, according to the ASA.
