At the forefront of the wildly successful pop/disco outfit the Bee Gees were twin brothers Robin and Maurice Gibb, who formed the band with their older brother, Barry. Both Gibb twins, who were born in 1949 on the Isle of Man, are now deceased. Maurice, the younger by 35 minutes, died in January, 2003 following complications during an intestinal surgery. Robin died in May, 2012, after a long battle with cancer. During his final moments, the singer reportedly spoke of his fraternal twin, telling family members, “I wish Mo was here, I can’t believe he is gone.” At the height of the Bee Gee’s popularity, Barry’s falsetto became the band’s trademark, with the twins adding distinctive harmonies. Barry is now 66 — the last surviving Gibb brother. (The youngest, Andy, who sustained a career as a solo singer, died in 1988.)
