The Grammy-winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir will perform a new rendition of the iconic “Battle Hymn of the Republic” at the inauguration. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) selected the choir long before Obama actually won the election, The Examiner reports. He said he knew from “first-ear experience how amazing” the group was and said he felt confident they’d “wow the whole nation.” They’ve got plenty of big-crowd experience under their collective belt, having performed at Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall. We can only hope the group of 280 gospel singers will bring a bit of Brooklyn flavor with them to the nation’s capital.
