James Taylor hasn’t kept his adoration for Obama a secret. At the Democratic National Convention in September, the crooner said, “I’ve been watching the coverage, and I’ve got to say, I don’t get it. I mean, I’m an old white guy, and I love Barack Obama.” He never exactly started the “Old White Guys for Obama” club or anything, but he’s been quite vocal about his support. In other words, Obama has clearly got a friend in James Taylor. So it’s only logical that the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter would be invited to perform at the President’s second inauguration, singing “America the Beautiful.”
