A 346-pound Vero Beach resident, Robert Wheeler, allegedly punched a Dominos Pizza delivery man in the face because he forgot to bring garlic knots, according to the Broward-Palm Beach New Times and The Smoking Gun. In the police report, Wheeler claimed he wasn’t actually angry about the garlic knots; he just wanted his money back. He got out of county jail after posting a $500 bond. According to the Indian River County Court Clerk’s website, he ended up pleading “nolo contendere” — meaning he neither accepted nor denied the charges, but did follow through with the punishment. He was sentenced to 12 months probation and had to pay restitution fees to the victim, in addition to other court fees.
