Two men were arrested and accused of stealing a neighbor’s turkey a week before Thanksgiving. Brian Caponi, owner of the 30-pound bird named Tom, noticed the family pet was missing when he found “a trail of feathers and blood” on his Gulf Breeze property, the Pensacola News Journal reported. Police arrested Joshua W. Anderson and Jacob H. Provo after finding the bird’s body in the back of Provo’s pickup; they were en route to allegedly butcher Tom and eat him for Thanksgiving. Provo reportedly admitted the killing to authorities, according to Fox 10 News. Both were charged with armed burglary, armed tresspassing, theft of livestock and cruelty to animals. A trial has not taken place yet.
