Lady Gaga is known for a lot of things: Catchy pop songs, meat dresses and making a grand entrance. And as the most popular person on Twitter, she has a built-in platform through which she can regularly promote her pet causes of gay rights, anti-bullying and healthy living to an audience of 31 million people. So when the body-conscious singer tweeted about her intense exercise regime using the hashtag #popsingersdonteat, the media (and some of her fans) cried foul. Gaga, who told Vanity Fair in 2010 about her past battle with bulimia, chose not to address the controversy, even after the National Eating Disorders Association tweeted back at her with “Huh? This is the same person who recently implored girls to stop dieting?”
